The Relay Pro tests shielded and non-shielded relays by simply clipping the test leads onto the relay terminals (pins) thus eliminating the need for specific tester footprints or adapters
The Relay Pro tests relays by automatically determining how the relay is configured, including “uncommon” electrical configuration relays
If you are testing a 4 pin Relay, set the tester to “Number of Pins” 4, or if testing a 5 pin relay set the “Number of Pins” to 5
Once the Relay Pro has determined the correct configuration of the attached relay it will begin to operate the relay coil and check for the proper reaction from the relay’s contacts
The Relay Pro injects about a 1 Amp test Current through the relay contacts to accurately check for Voltage drop across the contacts
The Relay Pro will then continue checking for proper operation of the relay through a series of 10 operations
If any of the tests fail, then the testing will stop and the red “Fail” LED will light
If all 10 testing operations are successful, the green “Pass” LED will light
